Google Glass

Like you guys know, we heard a lot about Google Glass and, of course we watch some interesting demos including the amazing and cool one at the Google I/O keynote, not to long ago, that featured skydivers and stunt bike riders. It wasn’t until Sergey Brin shows to the world a prototype pair on his face, that I realized, like many of you did it too, just how cool they are and how important they may become.

If, like me, you watched Google’s demonstration of Glass and Now, I have a some thought for you: You were watching the future right there, the one that we want, the future of the portable computing; you were watching the future of Google; you were watching the future of humanity. If you didn’t watch the Google I/O keynote presented by Vic Gundotra, Hugo Barra, and Sergey Brin, let me bring you up to the present at the speed of the light. Google Now is working with Android app, so that mean they will use your location, behavior history, and search history to display “just the right information at just the right time.” Let me give you a little example, if you used to search for a certain music band, now it will show you a list with the latest news and songs for that band. When now it will predicts or detects that you’re leaving your home in the morning, it will display a list with any relevant traffic information. If you have in your calendar a lunch meeting your Google Calendar will show you the best route so you can take it and get there, and it will let you know when you need to leave to get there on time. If you search on Google for an airline flight, now it will show a list with the flight details, any delays or changes in your flight.

This will be the beginning of the Google Oracle, a tool that will know you better than you know yourself, and a tool that will give you instructions with information before you even know that you need it. In the future but no so distant future, we can almost guarantee that it will become the default home page at www.google.com. You might occasionally, like I think is better, use the self-determination to do some manual searches, but for the most part Google will have such a awesome model of your behavior and psyche that it will automatically show you what you want to see. In the recent video that Google, we can see the Glass displaying the weather app, also they show to us how it record videos, how it send a voice-dictated email or text message, record some more video, participating in a Google Hangout, displaying a clock, recording some more video, taking a picture, and also wouldn’t you know it recording even more video. I think that one of the biggest uses that you will give to the Google Glass will be a camcorder. Watch the video:

I will see you guys in our next post! have fun!
